First Christian Church is once again the host site for the Annual Community Christmas Dinner for people who would otherwise be alone or without a special holiday meal to share on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 3601 South Staley Road, Champaign. Appetizers will be served at 12:30P with a traditional, sit-down dinner at 1P.

Jim Turpin, local radio personality and well-known host of Penny for Your Thoughts on WDWS-AM, will once again serve as guest emcee.

While dinner is free, reservations are requested no later than Thursday, December 21 by calling or texting (217) 991-0250 or accessing online: Please provide name, daytime phone number and number of guests attending. All children under 12 will receive a small gift.

Limited transportation to the church is available at five select pick-up spots – Sunnycrest Manor, Steer Place, Illinois Terminal, Round Barn Manor, and Restoration Urban Ministries. When making your reservation, please request any transportation needs and the location of choice. This event will be held regardless of any wintery weather conditions.

“It has been a wonderful privilege these past seven years to see old friends and meet new ones at the Christmas Dinner, and we look forward to welcoming new and old once again this year,” said Lynne Barnes, who is helping to plan this special holiday event. “It will be a great time of fellowship and celebration in the spirit of Christmas.”
