Devoted: having strong love or loyalty for something or someone (adjective)

Have you ever noticed how what we value is what we clear space for in our every day lives? It can be as simple as putting gas in our vehicle to when we do our laundry or it can be as complex as what extracurricular activities win the day for our kids to making room for in our budget for something that seems essential.

So what are we devoted to? Many would say something like this: God. Family. Football? However, when we look at our lives and their everyday rhythm, do we see devotion to those same values in that order? Honestly, can we truly say that God is the priority in our lives?

We want to be the kind of people who are “devoted” to what truly matters. Specifically, that means we want to be “devoted” to the types of practices the early church had.

For the next 4 weeks, we will be looking at the practices of the early church. First Christian Church will be focusing on these practices, their implication for our lives personally and practically, as well as cast vision for how God is shaping us for the future.

So whether you have been gone travelling much of the summer, disconnected from the church for a season, or been active with First Christian Church over the last several weeks, months, and years, we want you to join us as a focus on being a church like the church you read in the scriptures. We want to live out the practices the early church practiced.
