This special time will include a message for a FIRST pastor, a challenge to pray consistently for your child and your commitment to raising your child in a Christ-centered home, as well as a slide show with pictures of our previous babies and kids. Parents, family, friends, and the church family will share in a time of commitment followed by the presentation of dedication certificates. Participants will also receive a special gift from the FIRST Kids Ministry.

Raising kids takes more than just a village. It takes the Church. Join us for four weekly parenting seminars during the first service on Sundays, 9:00–10:00A. They begin with a time to connect with other parents and then focus on a different area each week, including how to handle technology, teaching our kids at their level, thriving in our other relationships, and spiritual rhythms.

Summer Care is a fun and engaging program for kids who will be entering 1st-6th grades during the 2024-25 school year. Each week’s theme is explored through Bible lessons, crafts, activities, and games. Summer Care hours are 7:30A-5:30P and is held at First Christian Church Champaign. Salt & Light in Urbana would not make it without fantastic community volunteers who donate their time and energy. Volunteering with participants and building relationships with them is a priceless investment. In general, these are the things they need help with on a regular basis:

managing recyclables
organizing household items

K–8th graders! Invite your friends and join us at the FIRST Family Life Center for an evening of fun, games, and more—including, but not limited to, dodgeball, pizza, popcorn, and a movie! We promise you will have a blast and probably be so tired your parents may even have a whole Saturday evening to themselves!

Join us for Serve Saturday, dedicated to showcasing our core value of outward compassion. Together, we'll prepare special items for our honored Night to Shine guests.
We will meet in the front office and fellowship hall to help assemble gift bags and crowns for Night to Shine.
This 2-day high-energy kids conference hosted by Christ In Youth (CIY) features incredible worship, top-notch speakers, and tons of fun where every aspect of the weekend is age intentional!
We will meet at FIRST at 5:15P. Pack a sack dinner to eat on the drive to Eastview Christian Church in Normal, IL. We will return to FIRST and head home to sleep - please pick kids up by 10:30P. Before coming to FIRST on Saturday, eat breakfast and meet at the church by 7:15A to head back to Eastview. We have an extended break for a group activity where we will go to Iron Coyote Challenge Park and eat lunch before returning for the conclusion of the conference. We will return to FIRST around 4P.
The cost includes transportation, conference registration ($60), lunch on Saturday, and Iron Coyote. Register by January 8 and we will include a group t-shirt. The conference fee is non-refundable.

As a church, we get your kids and students 52 hours a year if they come every Sunday; but home is where their foundation is built! We want to come alongside you and provide helpful ways to lead your family! All parents of children 18 and under are invited for a Soup Potluck lunch at the next Sunday Social and learn how some FIRST parents spiritually lead their family. Register at the link below.

Only Coast guard approved life jackets are allowed in the facility. No inflatable toys allowed. We do offer life jackets as well! If a child is in a life jacket, they must have a parent/guardian within arm’s reach at all times. They are also not permitted to ride any of the slides with the life jacket on.
You must be 48 inches tall to ride the big slides.
We ask that food/beverage are kept in the party area or the grassy areas and not on the pool deck.
